ImportantNone of the funds collected for Educational Programs fund the KPTA. The KPTA administers and supervises the program voluntarily. The fee for each Educational Program covers the cost of the instructor/coach and any needed materials for the kids, sports and clubs.

To further our mission, Kendale Elementary in partnership with the KPTA offer a variety of extra-curricular clubs for our students to join and are offered to as many students as possible.

March 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.

REMEMBER:
***Some clubs are open to all students while enrollment in others is by invitation or audition.***
***Most clubs require a teacher recommendation before a student may join.***
***As with any school function, appropriate behavior and effort is required to continue with any of the programs.***
***Continuous attendance is required so the student can gain the most benefit from the programs.***
***Students who are in the After School Care program can participate in the following clubs.***
***All programs are designed for both boys and girls!!!***

My Gym with Ms. Kathy on Friday
(Pre-K, K and 1st Grades)

My Gym has created an extraordinary fitness program devised to help children develop physically, cognitively and emotionally. Structured, age-appropriate classes incorporate fitness, music, dance, puppets, relays, games, gymnastics, sports and other original activities. Come and join the FUN.
Class ratio: 16 students,1 instructor $60.00

 

Zumba Kids with Ms. Julie (Certified Zumba Kids Instructor)
(Pre-K, K and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades)

Custom designed for Kids! This program blends dance and fitness routines with fun, games and high energy music. Students will develop a healthy lifestyle just by having FUN while exercising.
Class ratio: 20 students,1 instructor $60.00

LEGO Club with Ms. Pinnock on Thursday
(Pre-K, K and 1st Grades)

This club will enhance fine motor skills, thinking and imagination for the little ones. Join us as we tackle weekly challenges and tap into our creative sides. Each week will be a new adventure.

Science Club with Mrs. Brody and Pablo on Fridays
(1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades)

The science club seeks to promote interest and understanding in all areas of scientific study through interactive and entertaining, hands on activities and experiments intended to motivate, teach, and excite the students’ young minds, as well as fostering confidence and friendships in a nurturing and fun environment.

LEGO Club with Mrs. Timmons on Monday
(2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades)

This club is about thinking, imagination, planning and executing. Join us as we tackle innovative weekly challenges and tap into our creative sides. Each week will be a new adventure.

Basketball by Hoop Dreams of America on Wednesday
(Pre-K, K and 1st Grades) (Level II 2nd, 3rd, 4rth, and 5th Grades)

Hoops Dreams strives to develop and enhance, through the game of basketball, the skills that children need to succeed as future leaders in our world. The fundamentals of basketball are implemented into fun games using props and the child’s own imagination and creativity. Every week, the first ten minutes of the sessions are used to warm up and review the previous weeks lesson, proceeded by the new lesson and game for that week followed.

Soccer Skills by Goal Dreams of America on Mondays
(Pre-K, K and 1st Grades) (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades)

Learn the love of soccer with all the skills you need to play. No previous experience required.

Flag Football by Hoop Dreams of America on Tuesdays
(Pre-L, K and 1st Grades) (2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades)

Flag Football is the non-contact, safer alternative to its American-style football equivalent. This program is designed to give your child their first taste of organized Flag Football. The main goal is to build excitement about the game and encourage teamwork while providing a basic knowledge of this sport.

Chess with Mrs. Webster on Thursdays
(2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades)

Learn the game of chess in a fun environment. Children will learn the art of mastering the game of Chess.

Writing Club with Mrs. Fortner on Thursdays
(2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades)

Students will be introduced to different aspects,and be assigned different
jobs in relation to writing for our school'sl newsletter. As part of this
enrichment program, the students will sharpen their writing skills and
work closely with the instructor as a team.
